Job Description

Southern Botanical is seeking a high-performing Selling Arborist to drive new client acquisition and revenue growth within our residential portfolio. This is a hunter sales role, designed for individuals who excel at creating opportunities, building relationships, and closing deals. Success will be measured by your ability to develop new business from scratch, not simply respond to inbound leads.

 

Responsibilities  

  • Develop and execute a business development plan to secure new clients.
  • Identify and target high-value accounts including HOAs, luxury estates and property managers.
  • Perform client site visits and provide expert evaluations of tree health and risk factors.
  • Deliver consistent proposals with tailored solutions in a professional, consultative manner.
  • Achieve $500,000 - $750,000 in new booked revenue in the first full year, scaling upward thereafter.
  • Ensure smooth handoff to operations teams while maintaining visibility with clients.
  • Conduct monthly reviews with top accounts to identify upselling opportunities.
  • Achieve 90%+ client retention rate within assigned accounts.
  • Provide weekly updates on activity, proposals, and closes.
  • Track market trends, competitor activity, and client feedback to guide strategy.

Requirements
  • ISA Certified Arborist (or ability to obtain within 6–12 months).
  • 3+ years in outside sales, business development, or territory growth – ideally in arboriculture, landscaping, or related services.
  • Strong hunter mentality with a proven ability to hit sales quotas and revenue targets.
  • Technical knowledge of arboriculture and tree care practices with the ability to communicate solutions clearly to high-value clients.
  • Aspire experience preferred.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 50lbs, move about the work site, turn on and operate a computer in the applicable environment, communicate efficiently and effectively on the telephone or in person, and complete required paperwork. Exposed to dust, pollen, chemicals, cold and heat in an external environment. Requires extended periods of walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting, up to 20% of a workday. Traveling to the field required more than 50% of time.

 

Working Conditions

Standard indoor office environment with some exposure to external environment Include external environment dealing with all weather and terrain exposure. Safety equipment includes work boots, hard hats, gloves, earplugs, safety vest and glasses.
