Industrial Equipment Company (INDECO), a trusted industry leader since 1936, is expanding its Houston team and seeking a Technical Outside Sales Representative to manage and grow a designated territory. You will step into an
established book of 100+ existing accounts , giving you a strong foundation from day one.
You’ll represent top manufacturers in instrumentation, electrical, and process control solutions while working closely with inside sales, factory representatives, and long-standing customers across the region.
This is a consultative, relationship-driven sales role that offers territory autonomy, strong internal support, and the stability of an established, family-oriented organization.
What You’ll Do - Manage and grow an existing territory with 100+ active accounts , while identifying new business opportunities.
- Build customer relationships through regular field visits and solution-focused conversations.
- Identify customer needs, present product options, negotiate effectively, and position INDECO as a trusted single-source provider.
- Conduct joint field sales calls with manufacturer representatives to strengthen relationships and close opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with Inside Sales and Customer Support for quotes, follow-up, and customer success.
- Follow up on manufacturer-provided leads and maintain a strong pipeline.
- Maintain accurate customer and activity records in the CRM.
- Represent INDECO at ISA meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
- Participate in ongoing product training (in-person and virtual) from manufacturing partners.
What You Bring - 2–3+ years of B2B technical outside sales experience, ideally in instrumentation, electrical, automation, or combustion controls.
- Experience with Petrochem or Refinery Plants a major plus.
- Heavy or light industrial, downstream oil & gas, or commercial experience a plus.
- Strong listening, problem-solving, and consultative selling skills.
- Clear and professional communication and presentation abilities.
- High integrity, disciplined follow-through, and a customer-first mindset.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in the field.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Distribution, Engineering, or related), or equivalent experience.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable personal vehicle.
