Description Our client, a dynamic and growing organization in the construction industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to join their team. Responsibilities: + Record and maintain general ledger entries for construction projects and company operations. + Perform monthly reconciliations for accounts, including bank and credit card transactions. + Prepare and process project-related invoices, tracking construction costs and budget variances. + Assist in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including vendor payments and collections. + Help with project accounting, ensuring proper cost allocations and revenue recognition. + Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes. + Prepare financial reports, including profit-and-loss statements and job cost reporting. + Monitor and review payroll for construction employees, ensuring compliance with industry regulations. + Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial tracking for active construction jobs. + Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. + Maintain compliance with industry standards and company policies. Requirements Requirements: + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. + 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry or a similar field. + Solid understanding of GAAP and construction-specific accounting practices (e.g., job cost accounting). + Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300, Viewpoint Vista, or similar platforms). + Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, and formulas). + Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. + Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and stakeholders. + Familiarity with accounts related to construction (e.g., WIP schedules, project budgeting, etc.) is a plus. + CPA certification or progress toward certification is preferred but not required.
