We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist Technician (CRT or RRT) to join our dynamic team in La Plata, Maryland. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, experience in a variety of care settings, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves direct patient care for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations in critical and emergency care environments. 3x12 hour NIGHT shifts per week 7pm to 7:30 am
per week Perform respiratory assessments and therapeutic procedures for patients across all age groups.
Interpret arterial blood gases (ABG) and basic EKGs.
Administer and manage aerosol therapy, including aerosol set-up using masks.
Perform chest physiotherapy, including vest treatments.
Draw arterial blood gases and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on treatment plans.
Provide care in settings including Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and Pediatrics.
Educate patients and families on respiratory therapy procedures and equipment use.
Accurately document patient care activities and progress in electronic medical records.
Participate in weekend and holiday rotations (every other weekend required).
Licensure/Certifications:
Active Maryland Respiratory Care Practitioner License
CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) or RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) – Preferred
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience
Prior travel assignment experience required
Experience with aerosol therapy using mask systems
Must have clinical experience across patient populations: neonates, pediatrics, adults, geriatrics
CPR/ BLS, Physical, PPD, MMR, Color Blind Testing, FITT Mask Testing, Current Season Flu vaccination REQUIREDCPI Certification
Proficiency in ABG interpretation and arterial blood draw
Experience with chest physiotherapy (manual and vest systems)
Familiarity with basic EKG interpretation
Strong critical thinking and communication skills
Ability to thrive in high-acuity and fast-paced care settings
Full-time position with rotating shifts
Every other weekend required as scheduled
