Vehicle Engineering (VE) is part of Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT), a division of Volvo Group North America, provide state-of-the-art research, engineering, product planning and project execution to final delivery of complete products and support of the products in the aftermarket. VE is responsible for the integration and development of technologies into a complete truck for all brands within the Volvo Group. What You Will Be Doing

As a Data Analyst Intern, you will play a crucial role in extracting actionable insights from our data sets, utilizing your coding expertise to manipulate and analyze data effectively. You will develop methods and tools to bring data and actionable intelligence to development teams to improve our products.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, model and analyze data using programming languages and Data Analysis Software
  • Determine and apply the appropriate analytics methodologies.
  • Use Data Analytics Methods to enable stake holders to make discoveries and take action based on the data.
  • Design, develop, and implement software solutions and programs to facilitate the collection and analysis of data collected from various phases of product development and post sales.
  • Collaborate with Development, Test and Field Engineers.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional analytics community to share findings and best practices.

Who You Are

You are a Computer Science or Software Engineering student that is prepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment, gaining experience and knowledge in various aspects of engineering (or mechanical, electrical, software, design, production, etc.).  As a valued member of the engineering team within GTT, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the engineers in the department.  GTT’s values collaboration and life-long learning and our goal is to contribute to your development while providing you an opportunity to work in a business environment within the manufacturing industry.  You will report to the Engineering Manager for CAB Analysis.

Required

  • Must be enrolled and pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related program at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies. 
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75. 
  • Summer interns may work up to 40 hours per week
  • Proficient with programming languages (Python, SQL, etc.)
  • Experience with data visualization (PowerBI, Qlikview, Matplotlib, Bokeh)
