Duration: Two open positions - 1 year contract & 4 month contract.
Compensation: $35 an/hour - $38 an/hour
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid
Hours: Hybrid – Onsite Tuesday through Thursday; Remote Monday and Friday
System One is actively recruiting for a Financial Analyst I to support integrated system planning across electric, steam, and natural gas jurisdictions. This hybrid role blends financial analysis with project management and plays a critical part in supporting major initiatives, regulatory filings, and cross-departmental coordination. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical rigor, strong Excel capabilities, and excellent stakeholder management skills.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement (onsite Tuesday through Thursday) and the opportunity to collaborate with internal teams across finance, accounting, and regulatory functions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage tactical implementation plans (TIPs) using Microsoft Excel.
- Track project milestones, hold stakeholders accountable, and ensure timely execution of deliverables.
- Prepare weekly status reports and scorecards to support leadership visibility.
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners across multiple jurisdictions and departments.
- Collaborate with business area finance, capital asset accounting, and revenue requirements teams.
- Monitor supply chain timelines and project dependencies (no direct ordering responsibility).
- Support regulatory filings such as CPCNs, rate cases, and related documentation.
- Maintain project schedules, escalate risks, and support project governance meetings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred (Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field).
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, project management, or strategic planning.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Familiarity with RACI charts, project tracking tools, and cross-functional planning processes.
- Experience communicating and coordinating with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
- Comfortable working in a matrixed organization with competing priorities and complex deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry experience in utilities, oil & gas, mining, or other regulated environments (telecom, SEC filings, etc.).
- Exposure to generation, transmission, or distribution planning processes.
- Advanced Excel and data management experience.
