Organizational & Job Details

The Atlas Society is seeking a strategic, proactive, and relationship-driven Director of Donor Relations to lead and expand its fundraising efforts. This is an ideal role for a development professional who enjoys connecting directly with donors and telling a powerful story of freedom, reason, and individualism.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Fundraising & Donor Engagement
• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including direct mail, legacy giving, and major gifts.
• Personally solicit major gifts and build long-term relationships with donors through personalized stewardship and regular communication.
• Represent the organization in one-on-one donor meetings across the country, traveling as needed to maintain and grow a high-touch donor portfolio.
• Identify and cultivate new donor prospects who are aligned with the organization’s mission.
  

Event Planning & Sponsorship

• Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events, including the annual gala and student conferences.
• Drive event sponsorship outreach and use events to deepen engagement with high-potential donors and prospects.
  

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead and support the Development team, including a Development Coordinator and contract staff.
• Work closely with consulting partners to refine messaging and donor outreach strategies.
  

Data Management & Reporting

• Track and analyze fundraising performance and provide updates to the CEO and Board.
• Deliver data-driven revenue projections and donor insights to inform development strategy.
  

Travel

• Travel regularly for donor meetings, student conferences, and key events, including the annual gala and board gatherings.
