The Consumer Underwriter typically works 40 hours per week and must be available to work Monday through Sunday from 8:30am to 7:30pm, five days per week, as the schedule requires.

This remote role requires applicants to live in Oregon, Washington, or Idaho. Pay starts at $31.00-$34.75 per hour.

The Consumer Underwriter II reviews and processes consumer and real estate loan applications, making credit decisions per OCCU policies. They assess borrower credit, risk, income, and assets, set loan terms, and approve, deny, or escalate requests as needed. The role includes identifying sales leads, supporting cross-selling, interviewing members about loan needs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and acting as the main contact for third-party vendors.

Applicants must have a minimum of two years' experience in consumer underwriting. Essential skills include both analytical reasoning and critical thinking. To qualify, candidates need either a bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a similar field, or equivalent credentials.
