They have a strong foundation in project planning and implementation, particularly in areas that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote environmental resilience—such as trail construction, native plant restoration, water conservation, and energy efficiency retrofits. Prior experience in managing public service or conservation crews is a plus, along with a working knowledge of safety protocols, quality control, and field operations.

They should be comfortable navigating both boots-in-the-dirt environments and professional stakeholder engagement. The role calls for someone who can mentor and motivate Corpsmembers and staff while fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and inclusion. Effective communication, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to coordinate with public and private partners are key.
