Responsibilities

The Communications Specialist supports the Sponsor’s initiative to create a marketing strategy and organizational brand that better communicates the service offerings across the IC. The Communications Specialist also supports a Sponsor led Customer Engagement Team (CET) focusing on formalizing customer outreach and communication, identifying growth opportunities, and assessing department impact.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Recommend activities to promote department vision, mission, core values, strategic goals, and objectives based on workforce knowledge, behavior, and organizational goals
  • Develop a Customer Engagement Strategy that includes development, and implementation of a communication plan.
  • Monitor communication activities including digital content.
  • Work with functional teams to ensure content is accurate and timely.
  • Draft articles and compile, review, and edit weekly highlights that communicate department accomplishments, and/or initiatives to stakeholders.
  • Collate and draft news and information to be shared via internal and external websites.
  • Prepare, edit, and/or enhance various types of directives and documentation such as presentation briefings, meeting minutes, emails, online content, announcements, reports, publications/articles, policy or instructional documents, brochures, newsletters, and more.


Qualifications

  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • A bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or computer engineering
  • Minimum of Ten (10) years of relevant experience
  • Three (3) years of technical writing experience
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • High level of creativity and strategic thinking, with the ability to develop innovative communication solutions
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences
  • Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Capability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle confidential information with utmost integrity and discretion
  • Adeptness to work under pressure and handle crisis communication
